    I am working on expanding the possibilitis of the listbrowser plugin by making it able to include a count of contained publications as well as it trimming empty categories, but I am having a little trouble with it. As it stands now it is giving me the count of total publications for each catagory rather than just the count of it and it's subs, and I have been racking my brain on it without getting anywhere. Chances are that I just have a syntax wrong somewhere, but I just can't find it. Here is what I have right now:
    <edit>
    *SNIP* Remove the bad code and make this thread more readable
    </edit>

    Call it like any other list browser call, just add:

    Code

    showcount="yes"

    within the call. I have not tried the trim yet, but it probably wouldn't work right yet because of the problem with the count.

    Any help would be great!

    Take Care,
    Michael

    I cannot be 100% without looking at his templates, but I think he has the category links hard coded and the counts called from the pubcount plugin. If it were not for such a dynamic setup I would go with that, but that would be too hands on if it were to remain up to date. The idea that led to this plugin starting was a large database of items, sorted by country/state/province that does not show all of the places that have nothing in them(why show 50 states when only 5 of them have pubs under them). the showing of the count came along because I figured if I was going to find if it had anything in it I might as well give the option to show that as well...even thinking of having a variable that lets you state the format of the numbering...i.e. numform="There are %NUM% items in this category" but I need to get step 1 working before I make it too fancy.

    So if anyone can give any tips, I would appreciate it.

    I recently picked this back up and found a few areas I was messed up on, and then promptly broke it more than it had been before, but it is broken closer to the finishline. It would be easier if I could call one plugin from another, but I am yet to find out how, so instead I need to recreate the guts of the plugins within the one I am working on.

    Just a little update. I have this plugin working and is currently in Alpha stages with Pagesetter.Org and as soon as I add one more feature it should be ready to beta. It does require an updated readpubCount plugin that is included with it(updated so that if assign is not set it will return the count without assigning it) as well as you can pass on the formatting of the count section for normal items, where there is one item, or where there are no items.

    Hope to be done soon,

    This plugin is now completed and ready for beta. It should be appearing on Pagesetter.Org soon, or if you would rather I could send it to you via email.
