    I downloaded version 3.01 from this site, and I extracted it in my local modules/photoshare directory. When I went to administration and then to modules I got this error:

    Quote

    Fatal error: session_register() [function.session-register]: Failed to initialize session module in /home/httpd/vhosts/dungelmann.com/httpdocs/includes/pnSession.php on line 158

    I deleted photoshare and it functioned again. I extracted photshare 3.0.1 again and I got the same error code. I restored the 2.0 version and everything worked again.

    Any ideas how I can solve this? Tia

    I saw a post (probably in the danish language) which looks like it is about the same subject in the Help board (Opdatering!!).

    I'm completely lost on this one (as many others are according to forums.postnuke.com).

    But let's try some debugging:

    1) When exactly do you get this error - first time you click on "modules" in admin menu or do you have to do some more?

    2) Does the error also occur when accessing "admin :: blocks" ?

    3) Install Photoshare 301. Verify that you get the error.

    4) Now remove the "photoshare/pnblocks" directory completely. Does the error occur now?

    Hi Jorn, thx for the quick reply.

    I use PHP Version 4.3.1. I don't have access to my php.ini foles but i sent you my phpinfo.php result.
    Operating system: server Linux
    Local PC: windows2000 prof

    I reinstalled photoshare 3.0.1 and the error occurs at:
    admin::modules
    admin::blocks
    admin::permissions
    admin::photoshare
    admin::postwrap (3 party)
    admin::quotes

    If I delete the directory pnblocks (like you suggested) I don't get the error anymore.

    Photoshare 3.1.0. functions as well (the template gallery does not function in all albums but I will post a newe question about that if I can not get it to work).

    Is deleting the pnblocks directory an option that I can use for the longer term or do you advise otherwise?

    PS The random block is not found with the new blocks (because of the deleted pnblocks directory?)

    So apparently there's a problem with version 3's blocks compared to 2.1's blocks.

    What happens if you install 3.0.1 and then replace the "pnblocks" directory with 2.1's "pnblocks" directory?

    Well, you can choose to use 3.0.1 with out the "pnblocks" directory at all. This should work fine, but you won't be able to get an "random image block" on your PostNuke site.

    It still works with the pnblock files from version 2.1. And the random block is initialized.

    Great.

    Do you have a random block running before updating? If so, please remove it in version 2.1.0 and then upgrade to 3.0.1 and see if it works.

    Sorry, have not seen this post earlier. I'm rather busy right now but will try your suggestion next week.
