Removed Photoshare after import - no pics anymore?

Heyho,
I imported the photoshare-images into mediashare, then I deactivated the photoshare-module, deleted the files and added pnshow.php to the photoshare-directory.
But as soon as I'm accessing any publication with some photoshare-images, they are not displayed anymore - so isn't the plugin working or did I missunderstand anything in the readme?
