I followed the readme file with Postnuke permissions. Couldn't enable any user except an admin user to edit albums/add media.

Finally set all users admin access via postnuke permissions, and checked all boxes in mediashare access. Still no edit access for any user except an admin user.

    postnuke .762

From the posts here, many others have seen the same problem with always the same answer: "see readme file". Well, something else is a factor here because following that (e.g. readme.txt) and even permuting combinations does not allow mediashare edit access to anybody but admin users. Perhaps there is still a common simple cause, but it is being hit by many new (to mediashare) postnuke site managers.

Are there other users out there that had this problem and ran across a solution?

oh, and I did both the incorrect order in the readme file and the correct postnuke order of permissions with no difference in behavior.

You are right - PostNuke permissions are difficult to understand. But I don't believe it's any module developer's task to explain permissions in general. You will have to check the PN docs instead. Sorry.

I did find the problem, which I think was mentioned in passing somewhere here on the forum.

mediashare must be entirely lowercase in the permissions.

    Somehow I missed trying this.

    Glad you found it!

As I said: read the readme file ...

There's nothing I can do to prevent these kinds of errors and that's why I won't dive into them. Sorry.
