I played a bit around with the album access rights of mediashare under .8 and was not able to get any results. Setting the albums right for all or group users in any way (i enabled at one point all) don't allowed my test user to upload or add anything.
I changed testwise the ownership of an sub-album to that user (direct in the
mysql table), then it worked, with little glitches.
I would need for my site "user owned albums". ATM you can't give that
rights or have i overseen something?
I think about to play around there by my own and post the changed code -
is that wished and useful? Or is that topic on the near todo and should
i wait?

Have you assigned them the standard PostNuke permissions (as described in the readme.txt file)?

Yep - added users with mediashare:: to the permissions and all. Even tried "Mediashare::" too and setting all to admin right... nothing.
Only changing the ownership of the album to a specific user give that user accesses beyond viewing. No idea whats the problem is...

This issue has to do with the templates I think, your users can add albums if they provide the correct url to add album. But the problem is that the url link is not found in the template, for whatever reason?!! I had to play with it and add it manually, so that users can see the link.
Anyway. try this link as a user with album add permissions: /index.php?module=mediashare&type=edit&func=addalbum&aid=1
you will get the add album form.
I hope there will be a fix for this, been waiting for 7 months now. :-?
