Can anybody tell me what (they think is) the right solution is to stylesheet requirements per publication type?

Should Pagesetter offer to load a publication specific stylesheet - just like it loads publication specific templates - or is it up to the site admin to put that into the standard stylesheet?

It's a tough one. A StyleSheet will generally need to change with each theme, so there's logic in it being in the core CSS for the site, but at the same time, having it's own read in on a per pub basis would be easier for the Admin probably.

The down side to a pub specific sheet is that if it's a site that allows the user to change themes, then that could mess everything up. (which is why I mentioned theme specific templates as well).

Don't have to mess things up. Publication specific stylesheet would of course be frome theme specific directory.

stylesheets per publication type doesn't worry too much as opposed to stylesheets related to the theme postnuke is using at the moment :)

pnphpbb uses a system where you can name a style sheet after a theme and it'll read each css file corrosponding to the theme a user is using :)

From what I read postnuke has something like that built into .75, you make a pnstyle folder under each module and do just that.... all these style sheets stuff just frustrate me! they should burn lol

soooo honestly I think the pnstyle per module part of postnuke should work well enough without overburdening the main css file for a site with all the pagesetter stuff :)

Every publication type uses own templates where you can address every CSS style you want. Why should one use separate CSS for every pub type? That makes no sense for me.

But perhaps, J?rn, you could provide a "style guide" how to name all these styles (e.g. theme-(pubtype)-(fieldname)) so that different themes/templates are easier to convert.
But if I think about that: I use the same styles for nearly every pub type, because they should look similar...

I'v just started to write a concept for using Template Standards.
Take a look at http://www.pagesetter.org for a concept of the templatestandards i'm defining. Any input / comments will be appreciated.
