I've got some questions/feature requests:

1. When search capability is being introduced, how about creating a search block that lets the user search in all pagesetter publications/all fields? This would be useful, especially with the new Xanthia theme-engine which allows different blocks in different modules.

2. I am trying to make my list of publications look better, and would like to create some kind of alternating background color for, say, every 5 rows (first 5 rows white, next 5 grey, next 5 white....). I know this is possible in regular php, but how do I do this with Smarty?

3. Where do I find a manual for Smarty?

All things Smarty can be found at smarty.php.net including quick-start quide called the Crash Course, Documentation, and forums.

Look up the "cycle" command in the documentation. There is a basic example in the crash course near the bottom of the page.

The block is possible with a simple HTML block / form.
