    AS a newbie to postnuke, I apologise- but my new installation of photoshare and page setter, I have found several problems: one is the message i read on the photoshare module page as acessed from the menu;
    Error in API: "get_accessible_folders" failed: Table 'dragon_messyworld.nuke_photoshare_folders' doesn't exist while executing: SELECT nuke_photoshare_folders.ps_id, nuke_photoshare_folders.ps_title FROM nuke_photoshare_folders LEFT JOIN nuke_photoshare_access ON nuke_photoshare_folders.ps_id = nuke_photoshare_access.ps_folder LEFT JOIN nuke_group_membership ON nuke_photoshare_access.ps_kind = 0 AND nuke_group_membership.pn_uid = 2 LEFT JOIN nuke_users ON nuke_photoshare_folders.ps_owner = nuke_users.pn_uid WHERE nuke_photoshare_folders.ps_parentfolder = -1 GROUP BY nuke_photoshare_folders.ps_id ORDER BY nuke_photoshare_folders.ps_createddate DESC
It seems as if some sql query is missing. I searched the downloaded folder and found no .sql document. I downloaded an earlier publication and there was none in it either. Should there be one? Or is the module supposed to perform its own query somehow?
When we get this issue cleared up, then I can get to work on pagesetter...
    Thanks!

Did you initialize and activeate the modules? That's all that should be required.

I wonder if there is some communications problem with the db? Has anyone had any experience withthis? Or, can someone give me a datadump for photoshare and pagesetter ?

I'm lost. If the module initialization did not fail then all database tables should have been created. Sorry, I cannot help with this one.

I have deleted the module, reloaded, reinitialised it, and I still get the same messages. I have chmoded each directory and file to 755- and then I tried 777. Nothing. I am using the 3.30 version, with postnuke ver 7.2.6
    Photoshare will not create tables.
I notice a thread above mine, authored by blitzdog talking about the same thing.
I'm downloading an earlier version to see the the api.php file is different.

My problem, it seems, was thta the first time I downloaded I didn't get all the files- like, half were missing. Obviously, it was a glitch in stuffit on my end. I hope, anyway.
Photshare seems to be working now, but anyone else with these same issues should check to make sure they have phpinit file in their server!

And check my answer in this thread about how to get an module active when it was activated without the pninit.php, as this is a bit tricky :D

Yes, indeed, I did! :) I read that thread, and that's what put me on to the answer to my problem, in a roundabout way.

If its okay with you, I am collecting bits of information like that- we need to create a newbie users manual for postnuke. I am a newbie user, for sure! BUt one thing I am good at, and that is explaining things clearly, once I understand them. Can I use your explanation? YOu would get credit for it...

Do what you like with my answer :-D

But consider if it won't be better the other way round: We are collecting guides to collent them together on one place, so the user won't have to visit (n+1) places to find what he needs.

So of you like to contribute to the PostNuke documentation, please contact me (pndev at lottasophie dot de), I would appreciate that.

    J?rg,

Who is the "we" in "we are collecting guides..."?

I ask because I would like to volunteer to help with documentation. In my life during the daytime, I am a coder. Besides the coding, I always seem to be tasked with keeping the document repository up to date. That is probably because I value documentation very highly.

Is there a place that we can go to see those guides that you are collecting? Being relatively new to postnuke and PHP I find those kind of guides very helpful. I've been finding nuggets of good information in the n+1 places that you refer to and was considering helping with some documentation. Just not sure who to talk to about that.

    Thanks.

http://canvas.anubix.net/ has set up a wiki to create a user's manual for PageEd- there will be items of general use there, I expect.
I, too, would like to know where to bring nuggets of information.
