date field as Unix timestamp?

    Is it possible to enhance Pagesetter so that the contents of a date field is an Unix timestamp instead of a string like"2004-03-09"?

    So a template designer can use the pndate_format plugin to create a date / time string that would fit better to the local necessity. And sorting would be easier too...
